Cabin Design for NASA

NASA

Spring 2015: Molly Harwood and I created a suite of design recommendations for NASA’s Habitability Design Center. The habitat prototype lives at NASA’s Habitability Design Center to help designers and engineers prepare for the Mars missions.

Includes:

  • Two facing units
  • Detachable sling chairs
  • Overhead projectors
  • Color-changing LED lights
  • Noise canceling wall panels

Winter 2016: We spent the following winter at NASA, building prototypes and proposing cabins for a variety of space vehicles. Our capstone project was a Keynote-based design tool to help NASA engineers create low-fidelity plan views of Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV) cabins on any computer, rather than building costly prototypes.
